It was discovered in 1999 during the Makrygiannis plot excavation in deposits of the 7th cent. AD, in the area of the Central bath.

It derives from the rim of an open shaped vessel. The remaining surface depicts a bearded man turned to the right. He holds a vessel, possibly a krater or lebes.
